Computer Graphics : Rendering a hand
Professor Dianna Xu's research on Computer Graphicsinvolves advancing the state of the art in generating 3-dimensional surfaces in 2-dimensional media like computer screens. Literally millions of triangles are needed to accurately reflect subtle nuances in surfaces. These form the graphical skeletons or meshes that are then used to fill surface forms. The animation above demonstrates what it takes to render the surfaces on an entire hand using these meshes. You can hit the SHIFT-Reload button to view the animation again.
